Issued to mark the 50th anniversary of Bank Al-Maghrib's establishment as Morocco's central bank, formally reconstituted in 1959 following independence from the French Protectorate. The institution had previously operated under French oversight as the Banque d'État du Maroc, and the 1959 reestablishment was a deliberate assertion of monetary independence in the post-colonial reorganization of Moroccan state infrastructure.
