| Reverse description | The reverse presents a detailed high-relief depiction of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary located in the village of Tsunar (Цъунар), a 19th-century Orthodox stone church of the Alan Eparchy, rendered against a mirrored black field. The church is shown in three-quarter perspective, its rubble-stone masonry walls surmounted by a conical drum and cupola topped with a cross, flanked by arched windows and decorative crosses on the facade. To the upper right of the church, a coloured icon of the Theotokos (Virgin and Child) is depicted in traditional Byzantine style. The inscription XIX ÆН. (19th century) appears to the left of the cupola, and the village name ЦЪУНАР is inscribed below the church in the field. The surrounding legend in Ossetian reads АЛАЙНАГ ЕПАРХИ / СЫГЪДÆГ МАДЫ МАЙРÆМЫ РАЙГУЫРДЫ АРГЪУАН, arcing around the lower and lateral border, flanked by Christogram symbols. |
