| 裏面の説明 | The central device depicts a stylized bronze-age panther in profile, facing left and striding forward, its body decorated with incised curvilinear patterns characteristic of Warring States period (476–221 BC) bronze craftsmanship. The figure is rendered in high relief against a burnished field, conveying the archaic artistic conventions of ancient Chinese metalwork. Along the upper arc of the field, the inscription '公元前476-前221' identifies the historical period of the depicted artifact. The denomination '25元' is inscribed in bold characters at the base of the field. |

The Chinese Gold Panther series was struck for only four years, from 1990 to 1993, making it one of the shorter-lived bullion programs the People's Bank issued during that decade. Production was handled by the Shanghai and Shenzhen mints, and the series never achieved the international traction of the Panda coinage — partly a distribution problem, partly a collector preference issue that Beijing never fully resolved before canceling the program.
Surviving examples in original packaging are considerably scarcer than raw pieces suggest, as the series circulated heavily through the Southeast Asian secondary market in the mid-1990s.
