| Obverse description | The Somali national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing horizontal lines and a five-pointed star at its centre, supported by two rampant leopards facing inward, with a crossed spear and palm branch as a base device. The upper legend arcs along the rim in Latin script reading JAMHURIYADDA DIMOQRAADIGA SOOMAALIYA, while the lower legend in Arabic script reading جمهورية الصومال الديمقراطية curves along the lower rim, both legends separated by raised dots. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field, characteristic of Royal Mint craftsmanship. |
