The Battle of Bannockburn in June 1314 was the decisive Scottish victory over Edward II's English forces, securing Robert the Bruce's hold on the Scottish throne after years of grinding warfare following William Wallace's defeat at Falkirk. Somalia's involvement in commemorating a medieval Scottish battle has nothing to do with historical connection — this is a bullion-adjacent souvenir issue produced for the international collector market, a category in which Somalia's nominal issuing authority has been used extensively since the 1990s.
Two KM references suggest a two-coin set, likely differing in finish or packaging.
