Indonesia's 25 rupiah coin of this series had its longevity tested by chronic inflation — by the time production wound down around 1990, the denomination had lost most of its practical purchasing power, a direct consequence of the oil boom and subsequent bust cycles that destabilized the rupiah through the 1980s. The coin outlasted its usefulness by roughly a decade.
