Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations, this coin belongs to a wave of commemorative silver pieces produced by small island nations in the mid-1990s — most struck under contract at the British Royal Mint or its commercial arm, with the issuing country lending its name and currency denomination to a global marketing program. Seychelles participated in several such programs during this period, generating foreign exchange revenue from collector sales rather than domestic circulation.

The 28.28g/.925 specification was the Commonwealth commemorative standard of the era, shared by dozens of issuers simultaneously.
