| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of the Republic of Seychelles occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing a coco-de-mer palm tree, a sailfish, a turtle, and a landscape with sea and mountains, supported on each side by a billfish and flanked by scrolling foliate mantling. A white-tailed tropicbird serves as the crest above the shield. A ribbon scroll at the base bears the national motto FINIS·CORONAT·OPVS in Latin. The legend REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 1999 inscribed at the bottom of the field. The entire design is rendered in high-relief against a mirror-polished proof field. |
