| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field displays the royal plumes of Nepal — the traditional khukuri-shaped royal crest — encircled by a wreath of flowers, set within a circular medallion. The denomination पचीस रुपैयाँ (25 Rupees) and the issuer name नेपाल (Nepal) are inscribed below the crest within the medallion. The circular motif is enclosed within a broad multi-lobed decorative border, with the honorific श्री श्री श्री repeated in the panels of the scalloped frame, and a dotted rim encircles the entire design. |

Birendra's coronation on February 24, 1975 — delayed nearly three years after his father Mahendra's death in January 1972 — was staged with considerable ceremony, partly to consolidate the new king's authority under the Panchayat system, a partyless political structure Mahendra had imposed in 1960 and Birendra inherited. Nepal issued several denominations to mark the occasion, with this 25 Rupee piece sitting in the middle tier of a commemorative series that ran from 1 Rupee up to 100 Rupees in higher silver fineness.
