A beaded inner border frames the eagle device, with the denomination '25 РУБЛЕЙ' arcing along the upper left and the date '1997 г.' along the upper right. The legend 'БАНК РОССИИ' (Bank of Russia) curves along the lower periphery, with the fineness and weight inscriptions 'Ag 900' and '155,5' appearing in the lower field flanking the mint mark. Reverse description The reverse depicts a monumental sculptural group representing the Defenders of the Motherland, showing armoured medieval warriors in heroic poses upon a rocky pedestal, flanked by stylised trees in the lower field. In the background to the left rises a triumphal arch, while to the right a fortified ensemble with an obelisk and an equestrian monument is visible, evoking Moscow's historical landmarks. The curved legend '850-ЛЕТИЕ ОСНОВАНИЯ МОСКВЫ' (850th Anniversary of the Foundation of Moscow) arcs prominently across the upper field in bold Cyrillic lettering. The entire composition is executed in finely detailed relief with a proof finish, reflecting the commemorative significance of Moscow's 850th founding anniversary.
