Part of Russia's ongoing "Monuments of Architecture" series, this issue commemorates the Saviour's Transfiguration Monastery in Yaroslavl, one of the oldest surviving monastic complexes in the country, founded in the late twelfth century. The monastery served as the probable site where the *Tale of Igor's Campaign* manuscript was discovered in the 1790s — though the authenticity of that text remains one of Russian literary history's most contested debates.
