| Obverse description | At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after the design of Ivan Bilibin, displayed within a beaded circle. A semicircular legend below the eagle reads «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA). The upper rim bears the denomination legend «ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ» (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES) and the date «1999» appears at the lower rim.
