The figures are rendered in a naturalistic, literary-illustrative style befitting the subject matter. Along the lower portion of the field, Turgenev's facsimile signature «Ив. Тургенев» is inscribed in cursive script, flanked by the birth and death years «1818» and «1883». The composition was engraved by Alexander Vasilyevich Baklanov and Alexander Nikolaevich Bessonov. |
