| Описание аверса | Central field dominated by the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle displayed, each head crowned separately and surmounted by a single larger Imperial crown bearing a cross finial, with ribbons flowing to either side. The eagle's wings are spread and elaborately detailed with feathering; the dexter talon clutches a sceptre and the sinister a globus cruciger. A large heraldic shield on the eagle's breast displays the mounted St. George slaying the dragon, surrounded by a complex arrangement of subsidiary escutcheons bearing the arms of the various territories of the Russian Empire. The composition fills the field entirely with no surrounding legend, framed by a denticulated border of fine tooth pattern. |
