背面描述 The reverse features a three-quarter-length portrait of Alexei Semyonovich Shein (1662–1700), Russian military commander and the first Generalissimo of Russia, depicted in traditional 17th-century Russian attire and holding a ceremonial mace, positioned in the right foreground. Behind him to the left, a soldier stands beside a cannon, with a fortified town, sailing warships, and smaller naval vessels rendered in detailed relief in the background. An ornate cartouche at the lower center bears the dates 1662 and 1700 in two lines. The Cyrillic inscription А.С. ШЕИН (A.S. Shein) is placed vertically along the upper right field. The design is executed in high-relief proof style with fine engraving detail throughout.

附加信息

Alexei Semyonovich Shein commanded Russian forces during Peter the Great's Azov campaigns of 1695–96, becoming the first Russian to hold the rank of Generalissimo — a title Peter invented specifically for him following the successful second siege of Azov. The appointment was partly ceremonial politics: Peter needed a Russian-born figurehead above the foreign officers who actually dominated his modernizing army. Shein died in 1700, just as the Great Northern War began, sparing him the disasters that followed at Narva.
