Opmerkingen

Armenia's short-lived independence between 1918 and 1920 produced a currency situation of near-total improvisation. The Republic of Armenia lacked a functioning central press, and the Yerevan Branch of the Government Bank issued notes that were essentially overprints and locally produced emergency paper — the P#19 25 Rouble note among them.

The Armenian rouble issues of 1919 were rendered obsolete within two years when Soviet forces absorbed the republic in late 1920 and the entire monetary system was replaced. Surviving notes from this series are genuine artifacts of a window of independence that lasted less than three years.
