| 背面描述 | Left-facing bust of Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser in military uniform occupies the central field, rendered in high relief. Behind the portrait, the Great Sphinx of Giza appears to the left and the pyramids of Giza are depicted to the right, evoking Nasser's Egyptian identity and legacy. The dates '1918' and '1970' appear in Latin numerals to the left of the portrait, denoting his birth and death years, with the corresponding Islamic calendar years '١٣٣٦' and '١٣٩٠' to the right. The Arabic legend 'تذكار الرئيس الراحل جمَال عَبد الناصر' (Memorial of the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser) curves along the lower arc, with the date '٢٨ رجب ١٣٩٠' (28 Rajab 1390) at the upper arc and the mintage figure '0954' noted in the lower field. The design is enclosed by a beaded border. |

Ajman, smallest of the Trucial States with a population barely exceeding 4,000 at the time, issued this coin in the year Nasser died — the same year the UAE federation was still two years from formation. The Trucial rulers had no monetary authority in any practical sense; the Qatar and Dubai Riyal circulated locally, and these gold issues were produced almost entirely for the international collector and investor market, not circulation.
Nasser's death in September 1970 triggered a wave of commemorative issues from small Gulf states eager to capture that market.
