A central device of a tall, naturalistically rendered sheaf of rice stalks with heavy grain-laden ears radiating outward occupies the field. The Burmese legend curves along the upper periphery, with the date in Burmese numerals at the lower right. The composition is bold in relief against a smooth field, consistent with the FAO series promoting agricultural development. |

The large Burmese numeral '၂၅' (25) is prominently displayed in the upper central field, with the denomination inscription in Burmese script below. The central design area is enclosed within a decorative square border formed by an ornate floral and foliate inner wreath, which itself sits within the coin's milled outer edge, creating a framed effect. |

Issued under the FAO coin program, which recruited national mints worldwide to produce circulating coinage carrying agricultural themes as a form of development messaging. Myanmar's participation in these issues during the late Burmese Socialist Programme era was largely symbolic — Ne Win's government had collectivized agriculture in 1962, and by 1980 the rural economy was operating under the tight constraints of the "Burmese Way to Socialism."
Bronze was an unusual choice by this period, when most FAO participants had moved to aluminum or steel to cut production costs.
