| Additional information |
The Organisation of African Unity summit hosted by Sudan in 1978 prompted a short run of commemorative issues, with copper essais struck as presentation and approval pieces rather than for circulation. Essais of this type were produced in minimal quantities — typically fewer than two dozen examples — for submission to mint authorities and occasionally distributed to officials or collectors through government channels. KM#E6 exists in copper where the adopted circulation strike used a different alloy entirely, making the metal itself the defining distinction.
