| 正面描述 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted bare-headed with a simple neckline. The legend ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1998 and the engraver's initials IRB positioned in the lower field. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a flat field, consistent with Rank-Broadley's refined numismatic style. |

Issued to mark the 80th anniversary of the Royal Air Force, founded on 1 April 1918 through the merger of the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service — a consolidation that created the world's first independent air arm. Guernsey's connection to the RAF is not incidental; the island's occupation from 1940 to 1945 made RAF operations in the Channel particularly charged, and liberation came only after German surrender.
