Beschrijving voorzijde The stainless steel centre features the Syrian Arab Republic coat of arms — the Hawk of Quraish displayed with spread wings, bearing a central shield charged with two green stars on a horizontal tricolour, and a scroll inscribed with the state name at its base. The denomination numeral '25' appears in both Arabic-Eastern and Western numerals flanking the coat of arms within the aluminium bronze ring. The upper arc of the ring bears the Arabic legend 'الجمهورية العربية السورية' (Syrian Arab Republic), while the lower arc carries dual dating in both Hijri (١٤١٦) and Gregorian (1995) numerals, separated by a small ornamental device, along with the anniversary span '١٩٧٠ - ١٩٩٥ / ١٣٩٠ - ١٤١٦'.

Aanvullende informatie

The "Corrective Movement" denomination commemorates the November 1970 coup in which Hafez al-Assad seized power from Salah Jadid, a seizure the Ba'ath Party reframed as an internal correction rather than a coup. By 1995, Assad had ruled for twenty-five years, and the coin series marking that anniversary was as much a political instrument as a circulating piece. Bimetallic coinage was still relatively novel in Syrian production at this point, making the technical choice itself a statement of modernization.
