The Seymour Unicorn is one of the so-called "Queen's Beasts" heraldic supporters drawn from the ten beasts that flanked the ceremonial entrance to Westminster Abbey at Elizabeth II's 1953 coronation. The unicorn in question descends specifically from the arms of the Seymour family — Jane Seymour's lineage — which entered royal heraldry through Henry VIII's third marriage. Its reappearance under Charles III continues a series that the Royal Mint has been mining commercially since 2016.
The .9999 fineness distinguishes this from earlier Queen's Beasts bullion strikes, which were issued at .9167.
