| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central design depicting a triangular glass prism refracting a narrow beam of white light into a dispersed spectrum of colours, directly referencing the iconic artwork of Pink Floyd's 1973 album 'The Dark Side of the Moon'. The prism and light beam are rendered in precise detail against a plain field, capturing the graphic simplicity of the original Storm Thorgerson cover design. The inscription THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON arcs above the central motif, with PINK FLOYD inscribed below. The engraver's initials HDG appear in the lower field. |

Part of the Royal Mint's ongoing music legends program, this issue commemorates Pink Floyd — a band that, somewhat ironically, has had fractious internal disputes over commercial licensing for decades. Roger Waters has publicly opposed much of the posthumous and retrospective Pink Floyd merchandising apparatus, making an officially sanctioned Royal Mint coin an artifact of that ongoing tension as much as a tribute.
