Description de l’avers	Central vignette of Krak des Chevaliers (Qal'at al-Hosn) castle rendered in fine intaglio engraving, with the Arabic caption قلعة الحصن below. To the right, an oval portrait vignette of Saladin (Salah ad-Din) in traditional robes and turban, identified by the Arabic inscription صلاح الدين. The note is framed by an intricate geometric and floral guilloche border with Arabic numeral 25 denominational counters at each corner, and two manuscript signatures with Arabic title inscriptions at lower center.
