Beschrijving voorzijde Left panel contains the municipal coat of arms of Bad Doberan within an ornate cartouche — a divided shield bearing a leaping stag above a swan, surmounted by a mural crown, rendered in red and black. The town name BAD DOBERAN appears in bold red lettering above the arms. The right panel carries a multi-line Gothic script text block authorising payment of twenty-five Pfennig from the account of the Sparkasse der Stadt Doberan in Mecklenburg to the bearer, with the denomination written out in stylised Gothic lettering. Account and serial number designations appear along the lower margin.

Opmerkingen

Doberan — now Bad Doberan in Mecklenburg — issued this Notgeld through its municipal savings bank during the early 1920s inflationary period, when small-denomination coinage had effectively vanished from circulation. Flemming & Wiskott in Glogau were prolific Notgeld printers, producing issues for hundreds of German municipalities during this period; their output was reliable but rarely distinguished.

W.H. Lippert's designer credit is worth noting — named individual designers appear on relatively few Notgeld issues of this type, suggesting the savings bank commissioned something beyond the standard house template.
