正面描述 Brown letterpress Notgeld note with an ornate decorative border. The upper portion bears the text 'Notgeld der Stadt Moosburg' in Gothic Fraktur script, flanked on either side by silhouette vignettes of the Moosburg skyline with church towers. A large arched panel at centre displays the bold numeral '25' in white on a black ground, below which the denomination 'Pfennige' appears. The lower section carries the place and date inscription 'Moosburg, den 1. Februar 1921', the mayoral title 'Der 1. Bürgermeister:', a handwritten serial number and the facsimile signature 'Gertspeck'; the municipal coat of arms and the Bavarian lozenge shield appear at lower left and right respectively.

备注

Moosburg's 25 Pfennige notgeld from 1921 is a product of the severe small-change shortage that plagued German municipalities in the early Weimar years. With federal coinage in short supply and inflation beginning to bite, hundreds of Bavarian towns issued their own emergency scrip through local printers — Pichlmayr being exactly the kind of small-town press that took on this work. The signature of Gertspeck almost certainly represents a municipal official rather than a bank officer; Moosburg had no independent issuing bank.

Pichlmayr printed for local consumption, not collectors, which means surviving examples from this issue often show honest handling wear.
