备注

Tuchel — now Tuchola in northern Poland — was a small Prussian town caught between two administrative worlds when this note circulated. The Magistrat issued these emergency pfennig notes during the acute small-change shortage that gripped German municipalities from roughly 1916 onward, a crisis driven by the hoarding and melting of base-metal coins as the war economy devoured metal of every kind.

The issuing window spans 1917–1919, which means some examples would have circulated under the German Empire and others under the early Weimar Republic — a political discontinuity the notes themselves make no acknowledgment of.
