Below the crown, a small sprig of oak or laurel leaves flanks the mint mark 'A' in the lower field. The entire composition is enclosed within a raised rim with beaded inner border, giving the design a distinctly architectural, cartouche-like quality typical of German pattern issues of the Wilhelmine era. |
