Obverse description Crowned imperial German eagle displayed, facing forward with wings spread, bearing a small shield on its breast. The date 1908 is divided on either side of the eagle's body, with '19' to the left and '08' to the right. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH appears in two lines below the eagle in the lower field, rendered in bold serif lettering. The overall design is executed in a precise, high-relief style consistent with Imperial German coinage of the Wilhelmine era.
