Four circular vignettes, each containing a silhouette portrait, occupy the four corners, identified by script inscriptions as Goethe (upper left), Schiller (upper right), Herder (lower left), and Wieland (lower right). At centre, the Weimar civic arms — a rampant lion within an oval wreath — serves as the central device, flanked by two poetic quotations in German script; the title legend 'Notgeld der Stadt Weimar' and denomination 'Fünfundzwanzig Pfennig' appear at top in black and red respectively, with the issuing date 'Weimar 1. März 1921', facsimile signatures of the Oberbürgermeister and the Gemeinderatsvorsitzender, and a serial number at the base. |
