Heyder in Gehren was one of those workhorses — a short-haul operation printing emergency fractional currency for a cluster of nearby communities during the inflationary spiral that followed the war. The designer, Paul Neu of Munich, likely supplied artwork on commission rather than any geographic connection to the issuer.
