Notgeld issued by a private Frankfurt tobacco merchant rather than a municipality or savings bank — uncommon enough to be worth noting. The commercial Notgeld wave of 1921 saw hundreds of German businesses print their own emergency small change, but most were retail shops or cooperatives; a specialist tobacco house issuing its own scrip places this firmly at the eccentric edge of that phenomenon.
The DeNG reference confirms this as a catalogued private issue, not a fantasy piece, though provenance from the issuer itself is rarely traceable for commercial Notgeld of this type.
