| Obverse lettering | Detl. Vereinigung d. der Bezirke W.O.L.G. Gutschein Pf. 25 Pf. Bodenheim u. Co. Allendorf/W. |
| Reverse description | The reverse, also printed in dark blue on orange-buff paper, carries to the left a full-length classical vignette of Mercury — the god of commerce — striding forward winged-sandaled, his caduceus raised, set against a stylised flowering tree. To the right, the redemption text is laid out in a decorative scroll cartouche, and the denomination '25 Pfg.' is stated in the upper left corner. A slender floral branch fills the right margin, completing the Art Nouveau-inflected composition. |

Retail traders' associations (Detaillisten-Vereinigungen) became unlikely emergency currency issuers during the inflationary spiral of the early Weimar Republic, printing their own Notgeld to manage the chronic small-coin shortage rather than waiting on official relief. This particular association pooled four geographically scattered administrative districts in the Werra-Meißner region of Hesse-Nassau — an unusual multi-district arrangement that suggests either cooperative organization or a shared cash crisis acute enough to force neighbors into a joint solution.
Bodenheim u. Co. in Allendorf an der Werra handled numerous small regional Notgeld commissions during this period. The note belongs to the dense 1921 transition phase before hyperinflation made pfennig-denomination scrip worthless almost immediately upon issue.
