Obverse description The obverse is printed in olive-green and salmon-pink tones, with a decorative art nouveau border framing the entire design. A header panel carries the issuer's name in bold letterpress, while the central field is dominated by a large oval cartouche enclosing the denomination spelled out in full. The lower section bears the place name and date of issue at right, a hand-stamped serial number at centre, and a manuscript signature at lower right, with a validity disclaimer in three lines at lower left.

Reverse description The reverse is rendered in green and salmon-pink, with decorative foliate panels of oak leaves flanking a central circular vignette. Within the circle, a young hiker in period dress stands in a mountain landscape with the Rhön hills in the background and a village church visible at lower left. The denomination numeral appears in salmon-pink on either side of the vignette. A text panel at the bottom carries a four-line poetic inscription in Gothic lettering encouraging the reader to hike the Rhön.
