Langeln is a village in the Pinneberg district of Holstein — small enough that its Notgeld issue was almost certainly printed in a single run with no reorders. Konrad Hanf, a Hamburg-based printer active through the Notgeld period, handled numerous small-municipality commissions, and the designer credit to Erna Margarete Brieger is more unusual; named female designers appear only occasionally across the tens of thousands of Notgeld issues, and Brieger does not surface prominently elsewhere in the literature.
The Amtsbezirk Hemdingen grouping — a cluster of small Schleswig-Holstein parishes sharing administrative functions — issued through several of its constituent villages independently rather than collectively, which accounts for the hyper-local issuer attribution.
