| 正面铭文 | STADT·SPAR·KASSE Zwei Monate zahlt gegen diesen Scheck an den Inhaber nach Aufruf ungüllig: Der Magistrat. STADT CANTHA 25 |
| 背面描述 | The reverse is enclosed within a plain double-rule frame with zigzag outer border and scroll ornaments at the lateral margins. A central oval vignette, rendered in a crosshatched woodcut technique, presents a view of ruined stone pillars or gallows structure set against a streaked sky, with two haystacks in the foreground. Below the vignette the caption 'Der Galgen.' appears, followed by a two-line verse in Gothic script, and the denomination numeral '25' is repeated in each corner. |

| 备注 |
Canth — now Kąty Wrocławskie in Lower Silesia — issued Notgeld like hundreds of other small German municipalities during the coin shortage that followed the First World War. The Stadt-Sparkasse, the municipal savings institution rather than a private bank, was the authorizing body here, which was common practice; town administrations frequently routed emergency currency through their savings offices to lend it institutional credibility.
25 Pfennig was among the most-issued Notgeld denominations, filling the gap left by the near-total disappearance of small silver and nickel coinage from circulation after 1914.
