| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is divided into two main zones with multicolour letterpress printing. The left zone presents three vignettes: a humorous scene dated 'Anno 1857' showing a man chasing a departing train with the Low German caption 'Halt! ick bün de Börgermeister von Kremp,' a central panel with a Roland statue labelled 'Rolandrieden' beside a mounted soldier, flanked by two red decorative cartouches with the motto 'an sik locken!', and the town's heraldic shield in yellow and blue. The right zone contains an ornate baroque-style cartouche enclosing the redemption notice in Low German script, signed by the Bürgermeister and dated 'Krempe im Decbr. 1920,' with the title legend 'Notgeld üt de Stadt Kremp' in Gothic blackletter across the top. The printer's imprint 'Druck von Carl Griese, Hamburg' appears at the foot of the note. |
