| Obverse description | Printed on red paper with a black letterpress border of repeating geometric and diamond-pattern guilloche ornaments framing the entire note. The upper portion carries the issuer legend in bold blackletter type, followed by a validity restriction clause, with the denomination spelled out in large display type as 'fünfundzwanzig Pfge.' and a handwritten serial number to the right. The lower section bears the date 'Ergoldsbach, 15. Januar 1917', the numeral '25' in each lower corner, the manuscript signature of the Bürgermeister over the printed title 'Magistrat:', and the printer's imprint 'J. P. Himmer, Augsburg' at the foot. |
