Beverstedt is a small town in Lower Saxony, and this 25 Pfennig Notgeld is exactly what the postwar currency shortage produced by the thousands across provincial Germany — locally printed emergency small change issued because Reichsbank coin had effectively vanished from circulation. The 1922 date places it in the inflationary spiral preceding the catastrophic hyperinflation of 1923, when municipal authorities scrambled to fill the void left by hoarded metal coinage.
The Grabowski reference 98.1-1/3 suggests a series of at least three variants, likely distinguished by color or reverse text rather than denomination changes.
