| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in brown on cream paper and carries a silhouette vignette by Marie Alde in the Scherenschnitt (paper-cut) tradition, occupying the left half of the note: a forester with a walking staff and cap stands beneath a tree, accompanied by a dog, with the municipal shield rendered in silhouette at lower left. The right half is filled with a six-line verse in Low German dialect script lamenting the Treaty of Versailles and its effect on the local forester. The artist's credit "Scherenschnitt von Marie Alde" appears along the lower margin, with the word "Luft" inscribed beneath the vignette. |
