| 背面描述 | The reverse is divided into two horizontal registers against a warm buff ground with bold red denomination numerals '25' and 'Pf' flanking the left and right margins. The upper register contains a six-line verse in Gothic script narrating the legend of a travelling journeyman craftsman who, in gratitude for hospitality, fashioned an intricate lock that became the town's heraldic emblem; flanking this text are two vignettes — at left a figure of a medieval craftsman at work, at right a standing journeyman — with the town coat of arms and a representation of crossed keys centred below the verse. The lower register presents a genre scene of a craftsman seated at his workbench being served by a woman in traditional dress, rendered in a finely detailed multicolour woodcut-style illustration; the printer's imprint 'Druck: Carl O. Heyder, Gehren' appears at the lower left margin and the designer's monogram 'P. Neu' at lower right. |
