正面描述 The left panel of the note carries a colour vignette of the Harzgerode municipal coat of arms — a red fortified castle with three towers on a white shield, flanked by green acanthus scrollwork — above the town name HARZGERODE in bold black letterpress. The right panel bears a large red numeral '25' as the dominant denomination figure, framed by vertical dark green bars that divide the note into two distinct zones. Above the numeral a four-line verse in German script alludes to the note's emergency purpose, while below it the validity clause, issuing authority, date, and a facsimile magistrate signature appear in smaller type.

备注

Harzgerode's 1921 Notgeld issue was one of thousands of municipal emergency notes produced across Germany during the postwar coin shortage, when small denomination metal currency had effectively vanished from everyday commerce. Louis Koch of Halberstadt was a regional printer who handled a number of these local commissions in the early 1920s — competent commercial work rather than the elaborate artistic Notgeld that collector demand was simultaneously driving in larger cities.

Harzgerode itself is a small Harz mountain town, administratively modest, which makes this a purely functional piece — issued to make change, not to attract philatelic buyers.
