Obverse description Green and black letterpress Notgeld note with a thick black border frame. At left, the municipal coat of arms of Ansbach shows three fish swimming through diagonal waves on a shield, with the dates 1221 and 1921 flanking the base. The right portion carries the text of issue in bold black Gothic script, with a red stamped serial number across the centre, and below it the issuing authority, date of issue (12.8.21), a manuscript signature, and the title RECHTSK. 1. BÜRGERMEISTER.

Reverse description Green and black letterpress vignette printed in silhouette style against the green ground. The upper left carries the year 1221 in bold numerals. The central scene renders a medieval scribe or notary hunched over a writing desk, quill in hand, with a hanging oil lamp above, an hourglass to the left, a seated cat at lower right, and a crucifix figure at upper right — all executed as flat black silhouettes evoking the granting of Ansbach's civic charter. A caption panel at the foot of the frame reads DIE URKUNDE.
