Silberberg — today Srebrna Góra in southwestern Poland — was a small Silesian garrison town whose municipal authority issued this 25 Pfennig note as part of the broader German Notgeld wave of 1921. By that point, the first Notgeld boom had already crested; municipalities issuing in 1921 were often doing so more out of ongoing small-change shortages than the acute crisis of 1918–19.

Silberberg's Magistrat had limited resources and no long print runs. Survivor numbers are correspondingly low.
