| 备注 |
Diepholz is a small market town in Lower Saxony, and its magistrate issued this Notgeld note during the inflationary spiral of the early Weimar Republic, when municipal and commercial bodies across Germany were forced to produce their own fractional currency to cover the chronic shortage of small-denomination coins. The Reichsbank simply couldn't keep pace with demand.
Gebr. Jänecke & Fr. Schneemann were a well-established Hanover printing and publishing house with a long history in quality commercial print work — their involvement here indicates the magistrate opted for a more professionally produced note rather than the crude emergency printings some smaller issuers resorted to. The watermarked paper is a deliberate anti-counterfeiting measure, unusual at this denomination for a local issuer.
