| Reverse description | Multicolour letterpress reverse in grey-blue, orange, and green tones, dominated by a central colour vignette of the Neustädter Tor (New Town Gate) of Tangermünde, framed within an arch and captioned 'DAS NEUSTÄDTERTOR'. The denomination '25 PFENNIG' appears in large orange numerals to the left and right of the central arch, set against a grey-blue stippled underprint imitating stonework arches. Small city eagle shield vignettes are placed in the upper corners, and the city name 'TANGERMÜNDE' is printed in bold capitals along the lower orange band. |

Tangermünde's municipal administration issued this Notgeld during the inflationary chaos of the early Weimar Republic, when the Reichsbank was unable to keep small-denomination coinage in circulation. Louis Koch in Halberstadt was a regional printer who handled a significant volume of local emergency currency from Saxony-Anhalt communities during this period — workmanlike output, not a prestige commission.
The DeNG reference covering multiple sub-varieties (1308.1-2/3) suggests at least minor printing or paper differences between runs, which is common for municipal issues where a second batch was ordered months after the first.
