正面描述 The left half of the note carries a finely engraved vignette of Schloss Friedensburg perched atop a densely wooded hilltop, framed by an ornate rectangular border with the denomination numeral '25' in four corner medallions and 'PFENNIG' inscribed in arched lettering above and below. The right half presents the issuing authority text in bold Fraktur script against an olive-green guilloche underprint, with a large watermark-style '25 Pf.' monogram at centre. The note is printed in dark navy-blue and olive-gold on cream paper, with a decorative wave-pattern border running along the outer right margin.

备注

Leutenberg is a small Thuringian market town, and like hundreds of similar municipalities, it turned to local printers during the Kleingeldnot — the small-change famine — that gripped Germany in the early 1920s as metal coinage disappeared from circulation. Merzdorf & Frosch in nearby Saalfeld handled printing for several Thuringian issuers during this period, which kept costs low and turnaround fast.

These municipal Notgeld issues were often redeemed within months and deliberately destroyed, making intact survivors more common in collector hands than in genuine circulation wear.
