| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in green on cream paper and carries a decorative floral vine border framing three blocks of dense Gothic text setting out local historical narratives. The upper section is headed 'III. Luther und Karlstadt in Orlamünde 1524.' and recounts the theological confrontation between Martin Luther and Andreas Karlstadt; below it, shorter paragraphs headed 'IV. u. V. Kemnate und Oberes Tor' and 'VI. Orlamünde' describe landmarks and the town's geographic character. The printer's imprint 'Gawar, Halle' appears in small type at the lower right margin. |
