Emmerich's 1920 notgeld series was printed by Gebrüder Parcus of Munich, a firm that handled a substantial share of the Rhineland municipal emergency currency work during the postwar inflation spiral. Parcus was known for competent, clean lithographic production — not prestige work, but reliable volume output at a moment when hundreds of German municipalities were scrambling simultaneously to cover small-denomination shortages left by the collapse of regular coin circulation after 1918.
The designer credited is Torhorst, a local connection suggesting Emmerich commissioned the artwork regionally before sending plates south to Munich for printing — a common enough arrangement, though it occasionally introduced registration inconsistencies between the design proof and the finished note.
