The large central vignette is a detailed engraved panoramic scene of Prussian troops crossing the Schlei at Arnis on 6 February 1864, with infantry columns and figures rendered in fine line work against a winter landscape. To the left is a smaller coloured vignette of the Bismarckturm on the Scheersberg hill, labelled accordingly, and to the right a coloured vignette of the Brodersby windmill.
